"Walmart " ..deception & poor service test1

Expecting more from "WALMART" Today Sat. June 5th 1999 I went to Walmart store on rt. 6 in the town of Mohegan; next to Peekskill, NY The electronics dept. offered an RCA camcorder for sale at two hundred ninety-eight dollars with a black and white viewer. The sign right on the Camcorder said, RCA Camcorder b/w view 5 Head Title bar 2 9. mode spare Battery ,< cc3ii8c > Sale Price...$298.00 ....was...$339.00 When I tried to purchase the camera, I was forced to wait for 35 minutes because they said, "The fellow I would need to speak with, a black fellow named Ed, was taking a break in the back." After thirty-five minutes of waiting, I insisted they call an assistant mgr. which they did, when she got to the counter she also said, "We would need Ed," and called over the phone speaker for him to appear, which he did. He then tried to tell me that I read the sign wrong....that the reference to the battery was only in lieu of reference to information for ordering an extra battery should you need to buy one, and he did not interpret the sign the way I did, and if I did not want the camera at the price without the extra battery......then don't buy the camera here. (aren't we getting a little testi?) I Informed him once again that the sign at the very least was misleading, and possibly the worst type of deception in advertising that can be used on an unsuspecting public. I had experienced this when I was doing business with stores such as the now defunct CALDORS, I was finding it very disappointing to realize that this is a policy that now apparently seems to be openly accepted by large chains in general....as was evident by his disregard for my situation as I am quite sure the next person or persons as the case may be will experience. I also see other complaints about "WALMART" on your rip-off Report. Thats good! Let their reputation be known. Very disturbed & disappointed consumer, Mr.Frank Strauss franks@bestweb.net Mahopac, N.Y.10541

Help Stamp Out Discrimination at Wal-Mart test1

JOIN THE LAWSUIT Anyone with proof of Wal-Mart's discrimination against employee's please e-mail me. I am filing charges against them and anything u can add to back it up would be deeply appreciated. They do discriminate against people with handicaps. They do hire some handicap when its convenient or it looks politically correct. With help from others that know about this type of behavior, I hope to prove this. So please help. You can be part of of the lawsuit . Thank U, Sincerely Diann WHAT THEY DID TO ME! I was hired by Wal-Mart to work opening a new store, I had no idea at the time it was called ''temporary'' by them, nor did I know it was such slave labor. When I attempted to explain why I was not able to work the overtime I was called a ''wossy'' and an ''antique'' by the asst. store manager. When I spoke with the store manager he agreed to allow me to go home after my 9 hour shift reluctantly. At the door they had an acting receptionist that took your name if u left early and was told u would be in trouble if you did. She was right, everything they had given me weeks before they took away and made it impossible for me to work for them [i was forced to quit]. I put a letter in our local paper about my disappointment. I had no idea I would get such a response from dept. managers. I had never even worked around. One was very nasty and names me specifically 7 times and calls me ''underhanded'', ''not moral'' etc.... I have been approved by the E.E.O.C. to file charges and am currently looking for an attorney to take the case, not easy in itself. I just want to warn u Wal-Mart is a very large company and brags they have 8,000,000 employees .One manager told me their current slogan is ''a country within a country''. If you or someone you know had problems with Wal-Mart, YOU SHOULD FILE A REPORT ON THIS WEB SITE and then please, e-mail me at: dthomp@usit.net Thank U , Diann test40

WAL - MART Bait and switch - barcode vs display test1

Im tired of getting to the check out and finding out that the item rings up at an entirely different price than the display advertises an item to be. There was a time when every item in a store had a price tag on it and unless you couldnt read the language every one knew exactly how much an item was before they put it into a shopping cart. But today every thing has a barcode that tells the consumer absolutly nothing. Yesterday while at the local Wal-mart I picked up three chamois packaged individually and marked as chamois above the barcode. The display I took them off of was also marked chamois $2.97 ea. Later at the cash register The three chamois rang up at $5.97ea more than double the advertised price. I complained but was told i would have to go to the customer service counter where the lady told me I was wrong I didnt get them off the display marked $2.97. she double checked the price and told me they were $5.97 ea. I was really pissed now and I told my wife to mind my cart for a minute. About three minutes later I came back to customer service with the whole damn display in my hand and told the lady she was wrong , not me she then ignored me and asked to help the next person in line. I interupted them and said SKUZE ME LADY I AINT FINISHED YET! She continued to ignore me and then I asked to see the manager. She told me that the manager was too busy to see me. Finally the manager showed up and told me that if I wanted one of the products at the $2.97 price that was OK, but Iwould have to pay $5.97 for the others. I promptly told her to shove them up her ass. Got my money back and told her I would be on line to Wal-Mart within the hour. letters@wal-mart.co gets you directly to David D. Glass CEO Wal-mart. After doing a three pager to him and making several copies for the staff at wal-mart, I hit the send button. I jumped into the jeep and went back to the store to give the women the copies of my report to the boss. When I got there I found the same articles again on the same display marked chamois $2.97 Those assholes do it on purpose they figure most people wont complain. The E-mail again is letters@wal-mart.com Tell em what you think when you get screwed!!!!!! test40

G-III Leather Jacket -- Sold At SAM's CLUB Christmas '98 test1

G-III (G-3) is a company that imports leather jackets. The jackets are sold through stores like Sam's club. For Christmas 1998 Sam's brought in piles of suede baseball jacket styles in three colors. The suede is paper thin and tears very easily. When I attempted to return the jacket to Sam's, with a receipt, they would not take it - sighting that the G-III company would not give them credit. Sam's gave me a phone number for Christine at the G-III company - the number is 212-403-0800 - it leads to an answering machine. Although they did call me and were polite, they will not repair or replace the jacket, nor will they give reimbursement or even store credit. This leather is split so thin that it cannot possibly last very long. G-III is a rip off that uses Chinese slave labor to further their profits. The labels are in English and Spanish but they are made in China. While it may be illegal to import these jackets directly from China NAFTA has made an interesting situation. The Mexicans import the merchandise from China and then it is imported to the United States from Mexico, successfully skirting the law. test40
