Just Breaks charging for work not needed
The following is a letter my wife and I sent to Just breaks.
Why was it so hard to find out who ownes this
company when we called on the telephone? What are you
people hiding?
Your company record and reputation as satisfying
your customer complaints stinks. Your consumer affairs
dept. needs a class on how to deal with consumers.
We have heard complaints about your business practices in
your home state as well as many other states.
This is a case where your people made a very bad
mistake and we use the term loosely. Besides from doing a
shoddy job at best, your people told me that we needed
new Wheel Cylinders, that they were leaking and the list
goes on for repairs your people claimed we needed. You
have the receipt.
Hours after we got stuck and had to be towed they,
the dealership discovered the vice grips your mechanic left
clamped onto the break line destroying our whole break
system. We showed the dealership your receipt. Every item
you said that needed to be repaired was a lie.
We then went to another independent garage and
ask them to check the items your store Just Breaks stated
needed to be repaired. They too said your people lied.
Your employees (managers) both verified that your
employee did leave the vice grips on the break system and
that the employee that made the mistake was fired. That
was a lie too. They also stated that you Mr. Fielding took
care of this reimbursement for our expenses months ago.
Then we kept calling you by phone more than 30 times.
We never got a response from you or anyone else.
We have spoken with other Just Break store
employees. They have very damaging statements they have
made. Very damaging. In short they said, don't hold your
breath for any type of reimbursement. All we want is for
your company to do a full reimbursement including all
expenses we incurred totaling $1,200.00 That includes the
replacing of our break system, the towing and the time we
got stuck and could not make it to work and had to pay a
baby sitter.
After 4 months of hounding you for reimbursement,
You have the nerve to send $387.66. This does not come
close to the repairs that were needed just to fix what your
store did, this is an insult. Why haven't you called us back
ever!
